Per-Claim Deductible

A per-claim deductible requires the policyholder to pay the deductible each time a new, unrelated claim is filed. It applies to each separate incident, regardless of timing.

Common In: Standard homeowners, renters, and property insurance policies.

Example:

  • March – Hail damages your roof → You pay a $2,500 deductible
  • July – A kitchen fire causes smoke damage → You pay another $2,500 deductible
